PREREQUISITE: No experience required. This is a complete intro workshop for beginners.

MATERIALS/EQUIPMENT: Students are required to bring their own (fully-charged) iPad with the app, Procreate* installed and an Apple Pencil (or comparable stylus with pressure sensitivity)

In this hands-on, two-hour workshop we’ll explore the tools, tips and tricks that make Procreate such a powerful platform for creating stunning digital art from virtually anywhere.

Whether you’re new to Procreate or just looking to get comfortable with its features, this workshop is designed to help you navigate the interface with ease. We’ll cover the essentials, from brushes and layers to time-saving shortcuts, all in a relaxed and supportive environment.

This workshop is all about building a solid comfort level using the app, equipping young artists with the tools and freedom to create without the limitations of technical understanding.

This Workshop is only open to High School students and falls on a Secondary School P.A. Day (SCDSB).

As the Founder and Director of Upchuckle Education, Brad brings over 20 years of experience as an artist, animator and director of award-winning animated television shows. Beyond creating entertainment for audiences around the globe, Brad has also worked as an Animation Diploma Program Director and Instructor at an art and animation college. Having worn many hats throughout his career, he is now dedicated to helping students develop their own skills and creativity.

During years of commuting to work at animation studios on the GO Train from Barrie to Toronto, Brad used his iPad and Procreate to create hundreds (if not thousands) of drawings and paintings. He now shares that knowledge with students, helping them unlock their potential in digital art through this exciting UCW series.

Brad’s passion for teaching, combined with his diverse industry expertise, drives him to inspire and support students at Upchuckle Education—a place where people of all ages and experience levels can feel safe and supported as they explore their creativity and expand their skills.
